The UCSF Breast Care Center will be hosting a Internship Reunion Conference on July 9-10, 2016.

The conference will feature many returning interns as well as high profile guest speakers and multiple panels, lectures, and breakout sessions to inspire discussion, innovation, and teachable moments in the medical space.

After nearly 6 years at the BCC, Natalie Cox left the Internship Program Coordinator position to pursue a teaching fellowship and to finish her PhD at the California Institute of Integral Studies. For the past 4 years Natalie balanced her time at the BCC with her coursework in anthropology, but now that she is “ABD” (All But Dissertation) she decided to dedicate 100% of her time to research, writing, and her true passion: teaching college students.

A research team at UC San Francisco has won a five-year award of $14.1 million from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to investigate whether a personalized approach to breast cancer screening is as safe and effective as annual mammograms.
